The Plot Thickens: Langhorne Slim at the Middle East

Gearing up for the release of The Way We Move, Langhorne Slim’s fourth album, the Pennsylvania native took over Boston’s Middle East to great success. The singer/songwriter’s heart-handed hymns of American life dangle somewhere between folk and rock.

The Middle East crowd fell in love with Slim’s stage presence, his intensity and fun rolled into one night of music backed by his small but excellently cultivated band. No doubt Langhorne, who gained some praise a few years ago appearing at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, will have a huge summer ahead of him, leaving the northeast and heading west.

Needless to say, Slim’s way of making a night of music into a spiritual connection was enough to shake the roof in downtown Boston, as the weather stayed temperate but inside the heat seemed to rise. His new album is bound to be well-received.
