Roots Remain: Kevin Kinsella tours his old stomping ground

Kevin Kinsella returns to Burlington, VT for the first since time since touring with John Brown’s Body. Kevin may be best known as one of the originators of John Brown’s Body. He’s also an integral part of 10 Ft. Ganja Plant. Over the years, however, Kevin has put out several solo albums, beginning with I Town Revival, then Firestick, and returning after a break with Great Design.

For his solo work, Kevin integrates the roots of reggae and the roots of folk, while dabbling in other musical genres. Great Design shows a sincere and open songwriter savvy to pop music. While none of the songs are truly pop, the choruses are usually pretty addictive.

Touring again, Kevin’s Nectar’s set is wonderful, spanning his career and blissfully enlightening the audience, many of which miss Kevin from when he played throughout the northeast more regularly.

His short tour was well received, and the family man, singer, songwriter, and northeast legend will hopefully be touring again soon.
